super computer

Computers with very fast processing power and huge storage capacity are called super computers. Supercomputers are built by connecting thousands of high-capacity processors together in parallel. It uses multiprocessing and parallel processing. In parallel processing, a task is broken into different pieces and it is completed by different processors, many users can work simultaneously on the super computer. That's why it is also called multiuser computer.

The processing speed of a super computer is calculated in FLOPS (Floating Point Operations per Second) Here floating point refers to any work done by the computer. In which fractional numbers are also included. The speed of the current supercomputer is being measured in Peta Flops. (1 peta flops =  10 15 Flops)

The credit for the creation of the world's first supercomputer goes to the Cray Research Company of America. Which was founded by Seymour Cray. Seymour Cray is called the Father of Super Computer for his greatest contribution in the field of Super Computer.

Uses: - Supercomputers are being used in many fields. For example - for research and design in the scientific and technical field, in petroleum industry, for locating oil deposits, in designing the aircraft and automobile industry, in space research, in meteorology, in forecasting the weather, In the defense sector, in conducting subcritical tests of nuclear furnaces on computers, etc.
